Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent corrosion described in the title effectively and economocally, by adding an org. phosphoric acid base corrosion inhibitor to sea water or to corrosive water with relatively high conductance, and by applying simultaneously electric corrosion-preventing method by means of a zinc galvanic anode.
CONSTITUTION: Simultaneous use of electric corrosion-preventing method and a corrosion inhibitor contg. org. phosphoric acid or its salt as a base, which has been limitedly used in fresh water of low conductance and shows in sea water no corrosion-preventive effect and rather accelerates corrosion when added in large amount, so that it is unable to be used, is far more effective not only than individual use of the inhibitor or the electric corrosion-preventing method but also than simultaneous use of the electric corrosion-preventing method and the corrosion inhibitor contg. inorg. phosphoric acid or its salt as a base. In the present invention, the org. phosphoric acid inhibitor is composed principally of phosphonic acids, e.g., aminotrimethylenephosphonic acid (ATMP), 1-hydroxylethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid (HRDP) or their salts.
