Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a knock control circuit from perfoming wrong operation due to a noise caused by the backlash of a starter, a ring gear etc. or by the like, by setting the time of ignition at the maximally advanced value at starting. CONSTITUTION:The time of starting of an engine by a starter put in operation is detected by a transistor 73 and a Zener diode 81 connected to the connection node of resistors 68, 69. At the time of starting, a transistor 78 is turned on so that the output of an operational amplifier 85 drops to potential equal to that on a point (h) and is clamped at the potential. The clamped output acts to set a maximum spark advancement characteristic which is dependent on the characteristic of ignition time at the starting. As a result, the time of ignition is controlled to be appropriate at the starting of the engine.
