Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid the influence of an ignition noise, by masking the output of a knock sensor with a monostable multivibrator which is triggered by an ignition signal. CONSTITUTION:A monostable multivibrator 128 is triggered to generate a pulse signal of prescribed width when a power transistor 134 is turned off. An ignition noise cut-off circuit 113 is controlled by the pulse output of the monostable multivibrator 128. The noise cut-off circuit 113 is a kind of AND gate. The output pulse of the monostable multivibrator 128 is inverted to be applied to the noise cut-off circuit 113. For that reason, the output of a knock sensor 100 is masked with the gate 113 for a period which begins at the generation of an ignition signal and whose length is determined by the multivibrator 128. This results in preventing wrong operation due to an ignition noise.
