Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit variation of the angle of energization of an ignition coil according to the source voltage with a simple construction and also prevent adverse effect at the time of occurrence of noise and abnormal rise of the source voltage. CONSTITUTION:In an ignition system, which is provided with a signal generator 1 and a detecting and amplifying circuit 100 for detecting and controlling the waveform of the output of the generator 1 so as to control the energization of the ignition coil 3, the detecting and amplifying circuit 100 is provided with a trigger level shifting circuit 10. A bias resistor 11 is connected between the emitter of an input transistor 103 and ground, and a series combination of a resistor 13 and a zener diode 12 is connected between the juncture between the emitter of the input transistor 103 and resistor 11 and the non-grounded side of the power source. With this arrangement, the trigger voltage level of the detecting and amplifying circuit 100 can be varied according to the source voltage, thus permitting variation of the angle of energization of the ignition coil 3 according to the source voltage.
