Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure safe operation of an internal combustion engine, by calculating fuel-injection controlling pulses by use of predetermined dummy flow voltages in case that some trouble is caused with the signal for measuring the flow rate of intake air.
CONSTITUTION: In case that measuring voltage Vs becomes equal to or smaller than Vrefl by reason of some trouble with the voltage Vs, a predetermined dummy flow voltage Vd is selected for calculating standard pulses Tp by use of the voltage Vd. On the other hand, if Vs is higher than Vrefl, voltage Vs is compared with the first reference voltage Vref2. Here, if Vs is raised abnormally and has become equal to or higher than Vref2, said dummy flow voltage Vd is selected to be used as parameter for calculating standard pulses Tp. On the other hand, if Vs is lower than Vref2, standard pulses Tp are calculated by use of flow measuring voltage Vs.
