Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high-density recording magnetic recording medium which excels in the durability, by putting an oxide of a ferromagnetic material between the ferromagnetic thin films having different magnetization facilitating axes. CONSTITUTION:A vapor deposited layer 21 of a ferromagnetic metal in which the crystalline grains are grown in a specific direction is formed on a base material 7 which is sent to a take-up roll 72 from a supply roll 71 by giving a field acceleration and then vacuum vapor deposition to the ferromagnetic particles ionized by an ion source 61 and with an acceleration electrode 81. Then a vacuum vapor deposition is given to the ferromagnetic particles in the oxygen atmosphere using an ion source 63 and an acceleration electrode 82 to form a layer 31 with the oxide of the ferromagnetic particles. Thereafter, a vacuum vapor deposition is given to the ferromagnetic particles with use of an ion source 62 plus an acceleration electrode 84 to form a vapor deposited layer 21' of a ferromagnetic metal in which the crystalline grains are grown in a specific direction.
