Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent toner from falling out of a developing device body and from splashing by arranging magnetic poles of a magnet part while decreasing the length from a main developing pole in the carriage direction of a developer successively, and installing a restriction member along the edge of a group of magnetic poles. CONSTITUTION:The widths of magnetic poles 1c in a magnet group 1a for carrying toner in a hopper are decreased successively from a main developing pole in a carriage direction, and a magnetic pole facing to a toner layer restriction member 2 has the least width. Then, the toner restriction member 7 is provided close to a developing roller 1 and along the edge of the magnetic poles 1c for carrying toner in the hopper. As a sleeve 1b rotates, the toner in the hopper 3 is carried according to the rotation of the sleeve 1b; and its carriage width is narrowed down by the restriction member 7, and its layer thickness is made uniform by a toner-layer thickness restriction member 2 before it is supplied to a development area.
