Abstract

PURPOSE: To form the even developer layer of a desired thickness on a sleeve by disposing a magnetic sleeve by leaving the specified spacing to the sleeve surface and fixedly providing magnetic material in the position opposing to the magnetic blade on the inner side of the sleeve.
CONSTITUTION: A magnetic material 4 composed of, e.g., iron or the like is fixedly provided to the inner side of a non-magnetic developing sleeve 2 which is rotating, in opposition to a magnetic blade 3 for defining the thickness of the insulation-type magnetic developer 6 on the sleeve 2. With such constitution, magnetic lines of force concentrate to the magnetic pole induced to the opposing position on the magnetic material 4 side by way of the sleeve 2 from the magnetic blade 3 side. Magnetic toner 6 ears up in yarn form along these magnetic lines of force and elongates to the magnetic material 4 side from the magnetic blade 3 side. As a result, a part thereof is coated on the outside circumferential surface of the sleeve 2 by electrostatic force and adhesion and becomes an extremely thin toner layer which is then transferred to the developing part D.
