Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the contact width of developer and electrostatic latent image holder in the region where said holder and sleeve oppose in proximity and enable developing of a high speed to be performed by providing plural wires in said region.
CONSTITUTION: Wires 10, 10' formed by non-magnetic material are provided on the surface of a sleeve 3 which is positioned by way of a region 11 where it opposes to an electrostatic latent image holder 9 in proximity. The developer 5 delivered out from a developer well 6 is conveyed in the arrow C direction on the sleeve 3 surface along with the rotating motion of a magnet roll 2 in the arrow b direction. The developer then enters the inside of the region 11 by jumping over the wire 10 and is accumulated in the region 11 by being dammed up by the lower wire 10'. In this way, the contact width of the electrostatic latent image holder 9 and developer 5 is increased and the contact time between the electrostatic latent images on the electtostatic latent image holder 9 and developer 5 is increased.
