Abstract

PURPOSE: To charge the magnetic toner to positive or negative and obtain good electrostatic latent images and reversal latent images by using the magnetic toner conveying belt which has a flexible magnetic field generating layer provided with an insulation layer on the surface.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetic toner 4 being held in a magnetic toner hopper vessel 5 is held magnetically attracted to said belt surface by the magnetic field generated from a magnetic toner conveying belt 6. The belt 6 is constituted by a surface insulation layer 61, magnetic field generating layer 62 and back conductive layer 63. The magnetic toner magnetically attracted onto the belt 6 is conveyed along guide rollers 8 in the A direction at the same speed as that of a latent image substrate 2 and on the way, it is forcefully charged to positive or negative by a magnetic toner charging means 7, after which it is put in contact with a latent image substrate 2. Since the magnetic toner 4 is holding charges, extremely good transfer is possible. In addition, if the charging polarity of the latent image substrate 2 is made opposite, it is also possible to obtain reversal images with ease.
