Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform good cleaning with a device serving also as a developing device by adjusting the position of a magnet of a magnet roll thereby controlling the toner packing density between the same and a photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:A magnet forming a magnet roll together with a revolving sleeve 3 is formed of 8 pieces of magnetic poles N1..., S1..., and only the angle alpha between the developing magnetic pole N1 and the cleaning magnetic pole S1 is settled at 35.2 deg. and that between the other magnetic poles are settled at 46.4 deg. or the like. When this magnetic pole N1 is opposed to a photosensitive drum 1, the trimming magnetic pole S2 is fixed in a position of 23.2 deg. behind a trimmer plate and when the sleeve 3 is rotated at a prescribed speed, the toner packing density between the drum 1 and the sleeve 3 is made prescribed density. The latent images of the drum 1 are developed by the conveyance of a correct constant amount of the toner. On the other hand, when the cleaning magnetic pole S1 is made oppose to the drum 1 by turning the magnet 4 35.2 deg. right, the toner packing density between the drum 1 and the sleeve 3 is increased and the surface of the drum 1 is rubbed by the magnetic toner, whereby cleaning is accomplished satisfactorily.
