Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform developing and cleaning by stopping a nonmagnetic cylindrical sleeve or rotating the same in the same direction as that of a magnet roll in the sleeve during developing and rotating the same reverse to the magnet roll during cleaning in copying one time every two turns. CONSTITUTION:In the same magnetic brush developing device, one time of copying is obtained every two turns of the same photoreceptor 6 serving also as a magnetic brush cleaning device. A rotary permanent magnet roll 4 fixed by a shaft 3 and a nonmagnetic sleeve 5 of stainless steel, aluminum or the like are used. The sleeve 5 is stopped or is rotated in the same direction as that of the roll 4 during developing and the sleeve 5 is rotated in the direction reverse to the magnet roll 4 during cleaning, whereby the conveyance speed or conveyance force of the developer 2 in hoppers 1, 1' is enhanced and the cleaning is thus accomplished.
