Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform uniform developing with a one-component type insulation characteristic toner by setting magnetism of the magnets a magnet roll as a specified value to sharply decrease the magnetic flux on the lower stream side of a developing section thereby forming a required magnetic brush.
CONSTITUTION: A one-component type insulation characteristic toner layer of thin thickness regulated according to a doctor 3 is formed on a rotary sleeve 2 by the magnets 4W8 of a magnet roll. A magnet shielding member 9 is provided to the magnet 6, out of these magnets 4W8, which opposes to the developing part of a photosensitive drum 1 at a predetermined angle, and since the magnetic pole thereof is made as specified, the magnetic flux on the lower stream side of the developing section is sharply decreased. This causes the toner layer of the region of the sleeve 2 corresponding to the developing section oppsing to the magnet 6 to build up to form a good magnetic brush, whereby the uniform developing free from unevenness is accomplished by using the one-component type insulation toner.
