Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve performance and efficiency of manufacturing of a heat exchanger of pipes-and-flat-boards structure, for use of water and air, and the like, by a method wherein flat boards having a plurality of short pipe-shape projected openings forming claw-like heat transfer fins facing inward at the tip thereof, are laminated one upon another in the manner that their openings are overlapped. CONSTITUTION:A number of projected openings 3a in the shape of short pipe are provided to the flat boards 3, at the ends thereof the fins 3b are formed, by cutting slits 3d in the form of reversed L-shape into the openings, and by bending them inwardly of the pipe in the shape of a claw. The flat boards 3c are laminated, overlapping the projected opening parts 3a. With this structure, heat transfer property in the heat exchnger can be increased, as the fins are provided to the pipes, as well as the heat exchanger can easily and efficiently be manufactured, because the components can be formed from one flat board by press processing.
