Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve heat transfer coefficient by a method wherein fins are bent slantly relative to the direction of gas flow, and louvers are cut and set up in parallel with the gas flow direction.
CONSTITUTION: Fins 1 are bent into S-shape relative to gas flow direction G. Heat transmitting pipes 3 are flat in shape, and the fins 1 are arranged in parallel with each other between the pipes 3. As a result, the fins 1 are slanted relative to the gas flow direction G in their whole extension range, and the lines connecting root ends 1b and free ends 1c of the fins 1 are parallel to the gas flow direction G; therefore, there is no portion that is not contacted by the gas flow. In addition, since the louvers 2 are parallel to the gas flow direction G, they do not render the gas passages narrower, and heat transfer coefficient is improved.
