Abstract
PURPOSE: To minimize draft resistance, improve heating performance and thus to improve heat exchange performance by a method wherein unit fins of inclined rectangular hairpin shape are arranged to have directions in which they are slanting alternately and also louvers intersecting a main air current aslant are provided between flat heating pipes.
CONSTITUTION: Air flows in each unit fin 13 in the direction indicated by arrow A, acts on the fin 13 for heat exchange according to a leading edge effect of a louver 16, flows then in an intermediate unit fin 13 and is moved in the direction of main current L by an action of a group of louvers 16 working slantwise. The air in the louver 16 group also flows in the main current L. Consequently the main current L is accelerated, and static pressure drops to increase rate of flow and speed of current abruptly and also to increase friction loss suddenly, thus giving rise to a point of inflow port. Said point is made coincident with an inclination conversion part 13c. Therefore, heat exchange is carried out in good condition alike according to the leading edge action of the louver 16 after the inclination conversion part 13c, too. Thus draft resistance is suppressed to increase, and heat exchange performance can be improved.
