Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance assemblability and heat-exchanging efficiency by a method wherein two heat-exchanging elements are placed spirally between two end plates in such a manner that the two elements are wound around each other to form passages, and an air vent is provided at the center of the spiral.
CONSTITUTION: The lateral edges on one side of the first and second heat-exchanging elements 5, 6 are fitted into the first and second sprial grooves 3, 4 of the end plate 1 and a partition plate 9 is placed between the end parts of the elements 5, 6 on the side of the center of the spiral. Next, the lateral edges on the other side of the elements 5, 6 are fitted into the first and second spiral grooves 3, 4 of the other end plate 2 in the same manner as above. Then, the end plates 1, 2 are coupled with each other by bolts 13. Accordingly, the spiral-countercurrent type heat exchanger can be assembled easily and the heat-exchanging efficiency can be enhanced.
