Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect two-dimensional shapes of various objects by irradiating slantingly the surface of an objective body to be detected for successive scanning, by discriminating discontinuous points from reflected light from the body, and by judging its shape from coordinates of the discontinuous points. CONSTITUTION:A light beam from a light source 11 is projected slantingly on the surface of an objective body 1 to be detected by way of mirrors 12a and 13a, and then scanned successively by the said mirrors for horizontal and vertical deflections. Namely, the locus 7 of spot light moves as shown by A, B, C, and D. Part of light reflected by the surface of the objective body 1 is reflected by an optical lens system 14 to form its image on an optical position sensor 15. The optical position sensor 15 converts the position of the reflected optical image into electric signals in two perpendicular directions successively. A discriminating means discriminates discontinuous points of respective scanning lines from the output signal of the said sensor 15. Then, a judging means judges a two-dimensional shape, represented by a succession of the discontinuous points, from coordinates of the discontinuous points.
