Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the shape of an object with a simple constitution, by irradiating an object with a slit light and receiving a reflected slit light with a pickup means having a constant angle to the irradiation direction, and obtaining sequentially the profile image of cross-sectional shape of the object corresponding to the scanning position. CONSTITUTION:A laser from a laser source is taken as a slit beam with a slit plate 1, this slit beam is reflected with a front mirror surface 2a of a both-side mirror 2 and irradiated on an object 4 on a measuring stand 3. Further, an incident beam axis of a TV camera 5 is diffracted with a back mirror surface 2b of the mirror 2 and a mirror 6 is located so as to make the pickup direction have an angle theta to the irradiating direction of the slit beam to the object 4. The slit beam reflected on the object 4 is picked up at the TV camera 5, the picture picked up is processed at a data processing circuit, a profile image 7 to the reference line is sequentially obtained according to the cross-sectional shape of the object 4 corresponding to the scanned position, and the detection of shape can be made with a simple constitution.
