Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable starting on the load having a high inertia without increasing an inverter capacity by a method wherein an accelerating torque is increased by turning on a capacitor for power-factor compensation while it is in the course of starting. CONSTITUTION:When the AC motor 15 is started, the output of an inverter device 11 is supplied to the AC motor 15 by turning on a switch 12. Then, in the course of starting, a switch 16 is turned on, a capacitor 17 is connected to the filter circuit consisting of a reactor, connected in between an inverter device 11 and the AC motor 15, and a capacitor 14. Through these procedures, the inverter device 11 is shifted to leading side in the course of starting and, thereby enabling to increase the terminal voltage of the AC motor and to increas an output torque.
