Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording head which has high thermal efficiency and less power consumption by subjecting the center of a conductor formed on an insulative base plate to an anodic formation to form an insulating film, providing electrodes at both sides and forming resistors on thhe insulative film and electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Aluminum is covered by evaporation or sputtering on an insulative base plate 1 made of ceramic or the like to form a conductor 20, and the center of the conductor 20 is then subjected to an anodic formation, thereby forming an insulative film 21a. Thus, the left and right sides of the conductor 20 become a pair of electrodes 21b. The thickness of the film 21a becomes larger than that of the electrode 21b by the effect of the anodic formation. A resistor 30 is formed on the film 21 and electrode 21b. The head thus obtained serves to efficiently transfer the heat to the recording sheet, the applied electric power can be reduced, and irregular thickness can almost be eliminated. Therefore, high printing quality can be obtained.
