Abstract

PURPOSE:To mass-produce core molds precisely and economically by forming a metallic layer over the whole surface of a mold body by electroforming with pins inserted into extremely small holes of the mold body and obtaining a metallic mold for an optical fiber wire part by separating the mold body, and similarly obtaining a metallic mold for a core part. CONSTITUTION:Cylindrical bodies 8 each having an extremely small hole 7 with the same diameter with an optical fiber wire are held closely in a housing 9 and epoxy resin 10 is flowed in to form a mold body 11. Pins 12 having the same diameter with the holse 7 are inserted into the holse respectively and over the entire surface, a conductive layer is formed by vapor-depositing metal to form a master mold. This is dipped in an electroforming bath for electroforming to form a metallic layer, and the master master mold to obtain a metallic mold 14a for an optical fiber wire. Further, rod materials 17 having the same diameter with the optical fiber wire are implanted in a mold member in the same array with the pins 12 to obtain the other metallic mold 18. Then, the metallic molds 18 and 14a recombined together to mass-produce core molds 19 precisely and economically.
