Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture the titled optical mold connector at a high yield by providing a projection part, including a fiber wire, on the flank of a mold plug in the manufacture of the optical mold connector and by polishing it off after formation. CONSTITUTION:Metallic mold 1 having cavity 7 provided with taper hole 10 for forming projection 11 on formed plug flank 9 is used. Terminal-treated fiber core wire 8 is a core wire obtained by exposing fiber wire 2 and by fitting metallic sleeve 4 at the terminal part, and after wire 2 is inserted into wire fixing hole 3 and metallic sleeve 4 is pressed by metallic molds 1, a molten resin material is injected into cavity 7 of metallic molds 1 from runner 5 and then cured. Metallic molds 1 are decomposed to take out a molded product and after wire 2 is removed from plug flank 9, flank 9 is polished to eliminate projection 11, thereby forming the optical mold connector.
