Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the flow of molding resin and reduce the used quantity of the resin, by molding the ends of a coil with a mold having a resin passage which connects the ends of the coil to each other along openings around an iron core.
CONSTITUTION: A mandrel 6 is inserted into the internal opening of the stator core 1 containing a winding 3. An upper and a lower metal molds 7, 8 having annular cavities 9, 10 are fitted on both the ends 5 of the stator core 1. Another metal mold 15 having a resin passage 17 is so set that the cavities of the upper and the lower metal molds are connected to each other through the resin passage along the openings 16 around the stator core 1. A plunger 12 is pushed down to inject the resin 14 into the molds. The ends of the coil are thus molded with the resin. The resin 14 is easily introduced into the cavity 9 of the lower metal mold 7 as well as into the cavity 10 of the upper mold 8. Since the core 1 is coated with the resin only at the openings 16, the used quantity of the resin is reduced.
