Abstract

PURPOSE: To rapidly harden sand and mold the casting molds of high accuracy with good efficiency by burying metal members in the sand containing theremosetting binder in cavity and applying high frequency induction heating from the outside of the mold.
CONSTITUTION: Metal members 3a, 3b are disposed in the specified positions of the cavity 2 of a core mold 1 and core sand S is filled through opening 2a in the space between the metal members 3a, 3b and core mold 1. Further, a metal member 3c is inserted through the opening 2a, after which the core mold 1 is positioned in a spiral coil 7. High frequencies are applied to the coil 7 to induction-heat the metal members 3a, 3b, 3c and allow the sand to thermoset. The resultant core 5 is released from the core mold 1 and the metal members 3a, 3b, 3c are drawn out.
