Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to compensate the difference in pickup condictions, the intensity variation in the laser light source for reading, and the output variation in a light sensor by setting the gain of a reading system so that the measuring level of laser light for reading is matched with the level of a reference signal. CONSTITUTION:Part of the laser light 2 from the light source 1 is introduced to a light sensor 6 through a half mirror 9, a lens 10, and an optical fiber 8. The output of the sensor 6 is converted to a voltage 13, compared with a reference voltage, which is established based on the reference signal S through a reference voltage setting circuit 15, in a comparator 16. A high voltage power source 12 is adjusted so that both signal voltages are matched, and the gain of the light sensor 6 is established. The light 2 is linearly deflected by a galvanomirror 3, and scans a moving storage type fluorescent plate 4 in two dimensions. The light emitted from the plate 4 is converted to a voltage 13, amplified 14, and sent to a picture processing part.
