Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce cost and size, by separating 2 deflected laser beams emitted from a laser beam source with an optical filter, leading them to a readout scanning face and a photoreceptor, respectively, and using a collimator optical system, a deflector, and a converging lens both for reading and writing an image. CONSTITUTION:Semiconductor leaser 11 emits 2 laser beams having wavelengths different from each other in the same substrate. These 2 laser beams are deflected with deflector 13, the laser beam of wavelength lambda1 is reflected with optical filter 15 to scan the face of original 17, and the laser beam of wavelength lambda2 passes through filter 15, and scans the face of photoreceptor 16. The reflected light of the laser beam of lambda1 from original 17 scanned is detected with detector 18 to read out original 17, the laser beam of wavelength lambda2 is modulated with drive circuit 19 in accordance with the image signal read out, and the face of photoreceptor 16 is scanned with the laser beam of wavelength lambda2, thus permitting readout of original 17 and writein of photoreceptor 16 to be carried out at the same time.
