Abstract
PURPOSE:To make optical deflection by an optical deflector unnecessary when reading out a recording information, by using a self-scanning type line sensor as an optical sensor, also relatively moving the line sensor and an image recording element, and obtaining a time series signal. CONSTITUTION:A light beam from a read-out light source 16 is equally irradiated on almost all the surface of an image recording element 1 through a lens 17, a polarizer 14 and a dichroic mirror 13. The irradiated light beam passes through the element 1 and an analyzer 15. In this case, an optical image whose optical intensity is modulated is formed on a self-scanning type one dimensional line sensor 19 by a lens 18. Subsequently, the sensor 19 is moved in the direction meeting at right angles with the array direction of its element, and in that case, the recording information is converted to a one dimensional time series sidnal. This signal is brought to such processing as threshold level processing, data compression, etc. in a signal processing circuit 20, and is stored in a memroy 21. In this way, an image 7 of an original 8 is stored, and it is used for a signal for a pattern generator in a word processor, etc.
