Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts used and simplify piping by providing a check valve allowing the air flow from the downstream side of a compressor to the upstream side on a bypass passage connecting the upstream side of the compressor to the downstream side. CONSTITUTION:A compressor 38 compresses the air from a suction pipe 54 and feeds it into a surge tank 14 through a suction pipe 56. The first check valve 62 is provided on a bypass passage 72. When a throttle valve 22 is opened rapidly for a quick acceleration, the downstream side pressure of the compressor 38 is lowered temporarily, and the air measured by an air flow meter 52 flows through the first check valve 62 into individual cylinders 10. Accordingly, the engine revolutions are raised rapidly. When the downstream side pressure of the compressor is raised, the second check valve 64 is opened, and the air is fed back to the upstream side of the compressor 38 through the bypass passage 72, thus the air passing through the check valve as a safety valve can be fed back to the upstream side of the compressor.
