PURPOSE:To obtain good quality of images stabilized and having high resolution, by providing a developing sleeve rotating in the same direction as the carrying direction of a developer and a magnetic roller or the like having a magnetic pole to attract the developer to the surface of the sleeve. CONSTITUTION:A developing sleeve 7 is rotated in the same direction as the carrying direction of a developer 5 in order to carry the developer. A magnetic roller 8 having a magnetic pole to attract the developer to the surface of the sleeve is rotated in the same direction as that of the sleeve at higher speed than that of the sleeve 7 to improve flow of the developer and to control an amount of supplying the developer 5 to a photorecepter 1. The developer 5 carried is brought into contact with the photorecepter 1 and toners are attracted to electrostatic latent images which the photorecepter 1 has to form visible images. By such a constitution, the range of selections for carrier materials qualities and particle diameters becomes wider and good quality of images which are stabilized and have high resolution, are obtained.
