Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtained clear copy images, by depositing conductive or semiconductive toner on the toner carrier surface, developing images on the photoreceptor surface provided in close contact with said carrier, and setting the resistance of the carrier at specified value.
CONSTITUTION: In developing process, toner 4 is applied to a charged image formed in the electrostatic image forming process. The toner 4, having conductive or semiconductive property and magnetic property, is supplied by specified quantity from a hopper container 43 in the direction of arrow B on the surface of toner carrier 5 which is kept still by a magnet 25. When the magnet 25 moves in the direction of arrow A, the moving direction of the toner 4 is the direction of arrow B. The toner 4 is supplied uniformly on the surface of a photoreceptor 1, but the toner 4 is selectively attracted by the parts maintaining electrostatic charge, and is deposited in these parts. Therefore, in the developing process, the electrostatic image is made visible. By specifying the resistance of the surface of the toner carrier 5 within 3×107Ω to 1×1010Ω, clear copy images free from trailing or fogging phenomenon may be obtained.
