Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the flatness of the electric discharge of an organic solvent battery by using as a positive active material, iron disulfide added with silicon (or a silicon compound). CONSTITUTION:After a positive electrode 1 and a negative electrode 2 made of a lithium metal disk are stacked together by interposing a separator 3 impregnated with an organic electrolyte between them, they are installed into a case 4. After that, a negative sealing plate 5 also serving as a negative terminal is attached to the case 4 by interposing a gasket 6 between them so as to seal the battery, thereby constituting an organic solvent battery. Here, the positive electrode 1 is prepared from iron disulfide used as an active material and added with silicon or a silicon compound, such as silicon metal, silicon dioxide or cobalt silicate.
