Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the loss of catalyst particles with the flow of fluid, and to enable the driving and holding of the particles, by holding magnetic catalyst particles under the influence of a DC magnetic field.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetic catalyst particle 3 is prepared by forming a mixture of magnetic particles which are not permanent magnet, a reaction catalyst, and a solid and/or gel having molecular level and/or polymer level pores and/or gaps. The particles 3 are introduced into a non-magnetic reactor 1 furnished with a solenoid 3, which is energized with a DC current while introducing the fluid 5 from the reservoir 8 to the reactor 1 continuously through the pipe with a pump 7. The magnetic catalyst praticles 3 are magnetized, attracted near the central part of the solenoid, and held in the form of a layer having a definite thickness.
