Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure highly accurate magnetic transfer with a high speed, by securing a touch between a magnetic recording medium to which the signals are recorded unevenly and the magnetic surface of the magnetic recording medium to be transferred and then applying an AC magnetic field from outside to the intrasurface direction of the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The signals are recorded unevenly to a ferromagnetic material layer composed of Sm, Co, etc. and of a magnetic recording medium master 1. For instance, magnetization is carried out so that the surface of the magnetic material layer is used as an S pole by previously applying a DC magnetic field in the direction of thickness. Then a magnetic surface 3 of a magnetic recording medium 2 to be transferred is press-fixed onto the uneven magnetic surface. Under such conditions, the recording medium is made to travel. Then an AC current is flowed from an AC power source to a solenoid 4 which is provided on the travelling paths of the recording media 1 and 2. Thus transfer is performed with a high speed and high accuracy.
