Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve a recording efficiency and make low-speed reproducing, etc., possible by performing the vertical recording onto a magnetic layer by a closed magnetic path dependent upon a main magnetic pole and an auxiliary magnetic pole, which is connected oppositely to the main magnetic pole by high-permeability materials, and reproducing recorded data. CONSTITUTION:A closed magnetic path according to the recording current flowed to winding 9 is formed by main magnetic pole 6 and opposite large-area auxiliary magnetic pole 7 which are connected by high-permeability materials 8 such as ferrite, and the vertical recording dependent upon the polarity change of the magnetic layer of recording medium 1 is performed. By this vertical recoeding system, a high- density, high-S/N and high-efficient recording is performed; and simultaneously, when a magnetic resistance element is used, recorded data reproducing is performed by magnetic induction independently of the reproducing speed, and low- speed reproducing is possible. Further, if a Dc bias current is applied to widing 9, the linearity of reproducing signals is improved.
