Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve high-density vertical magnetization and high-output reproduction by one vertical magnetization recording and reproducing head, by using an independent main and an auxiliary magnetic pole performing vertical magnetization recording and a ring type head in combination. CONSTITUTION:A main magnetic pole film 11 is formed at part of a ring type magentic material 10, such as permalloy, having high magnetic permeability by using a thin film of a magnetic material with high magnetic permeability by sputtering, etc. A coil 14 for reproduction is wound around a ring type magnetic material 10 and a gap 15 is formed between the magnetic mateial 10 and main magnetic film 11. An auxiliary magnetic pole 12 is wound with a coil 13 for recording. Since vertical magnetization recording provides the same effect with the use of the main and auxiliary magnetic poles, its recording density is improved and vertical magnetization reproduction provides the same effect as that of the reproduction of a ring head.
