Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve high density recording, by taking the shape of a cross section in parallel with a magnetic recording medium for a magnetic pole thin film in contact with the medium as a circular arc or polygonal line. CONSTITUTION:An angle-shaped magnetic pole thin film 15 is fixed to a nonmagnetic core 21 and a coil 16 is wound on it in a magnetic head 20. A magnetic recording medium 17 has vertical magnetism anisotropy such as Co and Cr, and the medium 17 moves to the arrow while contacting the lower end of the magnetic head 20. When a recording signal flows to the coil 16 of the head 20, an angle-shaped residual magnetizing section 18 is formed on a recording medium 17. At reproduction, the residual magnetization of adjacent tracks 19, 19' of the magnetizing section 18 has an angle with a magnetic pole thin film 15 of the head 20. Thus, when the section 18 is reproduced, the adjacent tracks can not be reproduced due to azimuth loss. Then, recording/reproduction without guard band can be made and the track density can be increased for areas of the guard band.
