Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to transfer a high-density recording medium easily and exactly, by using a ferromagnetic material as its magnetic material, recording a signal in it in the concave-convex shape, and furthermore using a master magnetic recording medium which is made by magnetizing the recording surface by a constant magnetic pole.
CONSTITUTION: A master magnetic recording medium 1 has a magnetic layer 2 consisting of a ferromagnetic material, and a signal is recorded in the magnetic layer 2 in the concavo-convex shape. This recording medium 1 is made to run between the magnets of S and N poles 21, 22, and it is magnetized in the constant direction. The magnetic surface 4 of the magnetic recording medium to be transferred 3 is made to closely adhere face to face to the magnetic surface of the master recording medium 1. And AC electromagnets 5, 6 are installed with mediums 1, 3 sandwiched, and the AC magnetic field is added in the direction of thickness of the recording medium 1, 3 by making an AC current flow from the AC power supply 7. As a result, the recording medium to be transferred 3 is magnetized by varied strength depending upon the concavo-convex part of the signal of the master recording medium 1. Accordingly, the high-density recording medium can be transferred easily and exactly.
