Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to apply diamagnetic fluid to apparatus such as shaft seal, heat exchanger, or circulation system by preparing diamagnetic fluid which disperses diamagnetic particles of ceramics in dispersion medium with an oxide whose surface is covered with soluble substances having dispersion function. CONSTITUTION:Diamagnetic fluid which disperses diamagnetic particles of ceramics in dispersion medium with an oxide whose surface is covered with soluble substances having dispersion function. A magnetic path 5 is formed when ringed grooves 4a and 4b are provided with magnetic poles 2a and 2b which are magnetically connected with highly magnetic-susceptible iron and Ni steel single shaft 1 and a magnet 3. As for diamagnetic fluid 7, diamagnetic particles whose surfaces are covered with soluble substances having dispersion function are dispersed in dispersion medium such as hydrocarbon oil. Since the diamagnetic fluid is then pushed away from a higher magnetic field to a lower one, it can be provided with sealing function when shut up in a magnetic path. Moreover, when magnetic path distribution change is provided in the flow tube path of the diamagnetic fluid, heat exchanging can be promoted thus selecting substances which become superconductive at a cooled section and forming a circulation path.
