Abstract
PURPOSE: To miniaturize the activated sludge treatment apparatus as well as to enhance treating capacity thereof by forming recessed and protruded parts or pockets having opened parts provided thereto at an appropriate interval over the entire periphery and the entire width between each plates of a rotary disc at an equal interval in a zigzag pattern.
CONSTITUTION: Sewage is discharged into a sewage inflow pipe 11 from a conditioning tank 14 and fallen from an oblique upper part above a rotary disc 10 through a water scattering pipe 13 over the entire width thereof. A part of the fallen sewage is sucessively accumulated in pockets 18, 19 formed between each plates 15 of the rotary disc 10 and rotary force is imparted by own weight thereof to rotate the rotary disc. The fallen sewage is stored to the lower part of a sewage container and, as the rotary disc 10 is rotated, microorganism is adhered and lives between each plates 15 and sludge is separated in the sewage and air is supplied to microorganism in the upper part thereof to subject the sewage to decomposition treatment successively. The treated water is discharged from a treated water outflow pipe.
