Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform purification of sewage and removal of sludge efficiently by providing a lower treatment tank to the lower part of an upper treatment tank which purifies the sewage flowing successively by the rotation of contact filter media, in such a manner as to conduct the sewage after the treatment.
CONSTITUTION: At the time when the sewage injected into the inflow tank 3 provided on the outside circumference of an upper treatment tank 1 flows down successively into the 2nd treatment chamber 6b, and the 3rd treatment chamber 6c from the 1st treatment chamber 6a via overflow or inflow holes 7a, the shafts radially projected in the upper part of a revolving shaft 7 are turned altogether by the rotation of said revolving shaft. At this time, contact filter media 14 revolve as well and the sewage is purified by the micro-organisms stuck on these. Thence, the treated water flows down into the revolving shaft in the center of the 3rd treatment chamber 6c, from which it is conducted into a lower treatment tank 2, where it is separated to supernatant and sludge. The settled sludge is collected into a sludge collecting tank 9 by a scraper plate 10, and is discharged through a sludge discharge pipe 11.
