Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the clogging during filtering dehydration and heighten filtration efficiency, by placing cylindrical members which have numerous slits, in a treatment chamber so that the peripheral surfaces of the cylindrical members are in contact with each other and by using the turning forces of the cylindrical members so that solids remaining in the slits are moved to an outlet port.
CONSTITUTION: The cylindrical members 1, which have numerous slits, holes or meshes, are placed in the treatment chamber 3 whose ceiling is inclined downwards from a liquid inlet port 4 toward a solid outlet port 5. The peripheral surfaces of the cylindrical members are located in contact with each other or at a slight distance from each other. The cylindrical members are slowly rotated. A wall member 11 is inserted into each cylindrical member 1 and secured on the wall 7 of the treatment chamber so that the interior of the cylindrical member is divided into a filtered water inflow chamber (a), a pressurizing chamber (b) and normal pressure chambers (c), (d). The solids are separated from a liquid by the slits 8 and conveyed to the outlet port 5 by the rotation of the cylindrical members. The filtered water is drained through another outlet port 9. As a result, clogging is prevented without suspending filtration and dehydration and the efficiency of the filtration is heightened.
