Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance filtering efficiency and a washing ratio by a method wherein plural filter chambers are formed in a filter tower and a flocculant is added between each filter chambers in a divided manner in a filtering process to control an amount thereof and washing water is introduced between each filter chambers auxiliarily in a washing process.

CONSTITUTION: Plural filter chambers equipped with filter materials 2W4 and support members 5, 6 are provided inside the filter tower 1 and, between each filter chambers, a washing water auxiliary supply pipe 7 and a flocculant supply pipe are arranged. Raw water to be filtered is supplied into the first filter chamber from a supply pipe 11 to be filtered and a portion of a filtrate is supplied to an Al electrolytic layer 9 from an inflow pipe 15 to be electrolyzed and an aluminum hydroxide product is supplied to the second filter chamber as the flocculant from a supply pipe 8. Further, a high molecular flocculant 10 is supplied to the third filter chamber from the supply pipe 8 to be mixed with the treated water in the upstream side filter chamber and, after suspended substances therein are flocculated and filtered, the treated water is discharged from a discharge pipe 13. In the washing process, washing water is supplied from a supply pipe 14 to wash the filter material and discharged from a discharge pipe 12 but washing auxiliary water is supplied from the supply pipe 7 so as to adjust an expansion ratio of each filter materials 2W5 to about 30%.
