Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate the separation of foreign matter during backwashing by a method wherein plural separation cylinders comminucated with a contaminated liquid chamber are arranged to the circumferential part on a partition plate as well as a rotary hollow backwashing blade is provided below the partition plate to enlarge a filter area.
CONSTITUTION: A raw liquid introduced into a contaminated liquid chamber 1a from an inlet 2 is flowed into a separation cylinder 7 from the hole 13 of a partition plate 6 to collect and filter fireign matters in the raw liquid by a filter material 8 and the obtained purified liquid is flowed out into a purified liquid chamber 5a to be discharged from an outlet 3. Plural separation cylinders 7 are fixed on the partition plate 6 in a freely detachable manner by guide plates 9 and press plates 16 in such a manner that they are concentric to a hollow backwashing blade 14 and positioned on the same circumferential line thereof and said hollow backwashing blade 14 is always rotated at a slow speed while frictionally contacted with the lower surface of the partition plate to cyclically conincide the hole 13 of the partition plate and the inlet pore 14a of the hollow backwashing blade 14. By this mechanism, foreign matters accumulated in the separation cylinders are discharged along with a part of the separated liquid from a discharge port 10 through the inlet pore 14a.
