Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance removal efficiency of untrapped mist by a method wherein air having untrapped mist is passed through cooled absorption plate in collection chamber into stagnant chamber, where the air is treated by sand bed on coolant tank at the lower section of both chambers.
CONSTITUTION: Air containing untrapped mist passes through holes 7 of absorption plate 6 and is sucked into the rear side of collection chamber 3. The absorption plate 6 is cooled by coolant to cause frost on its surface so that untrapped mist is absorbed and collected by the frost. Mist still untrapped by the absorption plate 6 vaporizes at high-temperature upper rear side of the collection chamber 3, becoming solvent vapor, and is sucked through conduit 18 into stagnant chamber 4 and is absorbed and collected by frost pillars in sand bed 10a. Thus, almost only air is discharged from exhaustion pipe 23. By rotating rod 14, frost on the absorption plate 6 is scraped off by scraper rod 15 and falls on sand bed 10. In sand beds 10, 10a, sand grains are coated with pigment resin from mist. Frost-dissolved water and solvent are flowed into groove 11. Pigment and resin deposited on sand is in sheet form, and therefore is wound. Liquid in groove 11 is recovered to mixed water separation tank.
