Abstract
PURPOSE: To make stripping of foreign materials easy at the time of automatic backwashing by providing a multiplicity of circular conical holes to a partition plate for supporting filter cloth, positioning the large-diameter side thereof on the filter surface and the small-diameter side on the discharge side for foreign materials.
CONSTITUTION: Polluted liquid flows through the inlet nozzle 2 provided to a body 1 into a polluted liquid section 1a. The foreign materials in the polluted liquid are separated and captured by sheetlike filter media 8, and deposits in the multiple circular conical holes 13 provided to a partition plate 6. The foreign materials deposited in said holes 13 pass through the inlet holes 14a of a backwashing hollow arm 14, and are discharged together with part of the purified liquid to the outside through an impurity discharge nozzle 10. Since the arm 13 is held freely turnably by bearing 11, and is rotating at low speeds at all times by a geared motor 15 via a gear 12, the foreign materials are periodically discharged through the discharge port 10 to the outside.
