Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the treating efficiency of the titled filter and make possible the simple and sure washing of filter media by putting the filter media between the inside and outside cylindrical bodies provided on the outside circumference of the flow-down cylindrical body at the center of a filtering cylindrical body, and providing multiple water flow holes to the inside and outside cylindrical bodies.

CONSTITUTION: The raw water pumped up from the dirt pool of a fish farming pond or the like is supplied through a raw water supply pipe 13 into the obliquely suspending cylindrical body 4 of a filter body 1. As the raw water rotates in the inside, large dirt and the like materials settle and small dirt and the like materials infilter the communicating gap 16 between an outside cylindrical body 7 and a filter cylindrical body 2 and contact with the inside filter media 23 through multiple through-holes 11, 11. The filtered water passes the through-holes 12, 12 of an inside cylindrical body 8, ascends in the communicating gap 9 between said body and a flow-down cylindricl body 6, flows down the cylindrical body 6, is sent to a filtrate feeding pipe 14 and is recirculated to the fish farming pond. During the normal filtration operation, the dirt 17 is discharged when the valve of a discharge pipe 15 is opened for a short time. At the backwashing of the filter media 23, the valve of the water supply pipe 13 is closed and a backwashing valve is opened to back flow the filtrate from the feeding pipe 14, whereby the filter media are washed. The washing water is sent to the cylindrical body 4.
