Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise treatment performance to several times more than that of rotary disk method by using the system in which nets are attached to rotary shaft and granular substances in water tank are carried up to the air to make better the aeration of activated sludge on the granular substances and at the same time the introduction of compressed air is omitted.
CONSTITUTION: A number of the nets 7 are attached to the rotary shaft 6 throughout the whole length of a water tank, and the rotary shaft 6 is turned to carry the granular substances 5 present in water up to the air. And, the granular substances and accompanying water on the nets 7 drop from the nets, activated sludge adhered to the granular substances adsorbs oxygen in the air, and then the oxygen-adsorbed activated sludge again goes into the water as the rotation proceeds, whereby BOD components present can be removed.
