Abstract

PURPOSE: To inexpensively obtain a permanently elastic material with high performance and less dispersion by using Fe as the principal component and Ni and Co as the 1st and 2nd subsidiary components, adding Mo, W and Cr, and further adding Mn or Si.
CONSTITUTION: An alloy having a composition consisting of, by wt., 20.0W35.0% Ni, 5.0W17.0% Co, 3.0W15.0% Mo, 1.5W10.0% W (Mo+W≤22.0%),≤4.5% Cr, ≤5.0% Mn and/or ≤1.3%Si, and the balance Fe is plastically worked at about 30W90% reduction ratio, and by annealing the worked alloy at about 300W600°C in accordance with said component ratio and reduction ratio, a material with ≤ about 0.2% dispersion in sonic speed is obtd. This material has 0ppm/°C central value of temp. characteristics, about ±1.5ppm/°C dispersion in the characteristics, and ≥ about 30,000Qm. Mn and Si improve the workability considerably, facilitate the alloying, and increase the Qm.
