Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a material for the 3rd electrode having high workability and adhesion at low temp. and not contaminating an EC substance by using an alloy of Li and Mg or Al. CONSTITUTION:An alloy consisting of 10-60wt% Li and 0-90wt% Mg or 0- 60wt% Al is used as a material for the 3rd electrode. Grains of the alloy are heated to 100-250 deg.C and press-bonded to a lead electrode to form the 3rd electrode. When the 3rd electrode is set at the part of an injection hole in a back substrate 4, after injecting an electrolyte from the hole, grains of the alloy are softened by heating, forced into the hole, and fixed while in contact with a lead electrode 10 set at the periphery of the hole. The 3rd electrode is then covered with a sealant 12 such as solder or epoxy resin and sealed. The alloy is easily deformed at such a low temp. and connects firmly to the lead electrode, and because of the low temp., the alloy does not boil the electrolyte and exerts no unfavorable influence on the EC substance.
